As soon as Heathwood Hall junior linebacker Brandon Hill gets a feeling about where things stand with his recruitment another offer comes his way.
Georgia is the latest offer for the 6-3, 210-pound prospect, joining Clemson, Duke, Pittsburgh, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and Yale.
“I’m trying to set timelines, but they keep changing,” Hill said. “When a school offers, I keep pushing it back a little bit.”
He added, “The more schools that have come in, it’s kind of opened my eyes a little bit, made me see the whole picture.
“I’m getting them all lined up and just kind of looking at them.”
For now, Clemson has a greyshirt offer on the table, but that’s subject to change.
Brent Venables told Hill when he first relayed the offer that it was a possibility. There was further discussion about it last month when Hill was in town for the Elite Junior Day.
“(Venables) kind of explained the details of what it was to my mom and me,” Hill said. “He said it’s the worst-case scenario. And, honestly, that wasn’t such a bad situation to be in.”
Hill will visit Wake Forest on Sunday before heading down to Florida State for a visit on the last day of the month. He’s also been to Virginia Tech this year.
As the three-star prospect works towards a decision, a couple of factors will be kept in mind.
“I’ll definitely be considering academics. I’m trying to graduate with a good degree in four years,” Hill said. “Secondly, when I make visits to all these places, I want to talk with all the coaches, the players, try to see the environment around them and see if I could spend the next four years there, so those are probably the two man things.”
