The Mountaineers seized the momentum and added three in the top of the fifth to take command on the game.   West Virginia added another run in the top of the seventh to stretch the lead to 5-0.

The Tigers finally got on the board in the seventh.  Chris Okey singled to left to start things off for Clemson.  Weston Wilson followed with a single advancing Okey to second.  Reed Rohlman singled to score Okey.  The Tigers appeared poised for a rally, but Rudy Cox hit into a double play.  After seven West Virginia led 5-1.
