i'm not a jr fan, but i was actually impressed with him last year. sure, he didn't win a bunch, but he was the most consistent all year long out of the hendricks bunch. he was a better driver than i thought and can compete on every type of track.

no, to win the championship you only have to be consistent for the last 10 races.

for the entire year Jr. was the guy who week in week out was in contention starting at Daytona. JJ sucked for a lot of last year and so did JG....obviously casey mears was not even a factor

no to get in the top 12 you just need to win a few races and run competitively in a few others so there. the 1st half of last season JJ was sucking and was well outside of the top 12. then he got it turned around. he was the most consistent the 2nd half of the season. but for the year the most consistent was Jr.

however, he is a gamecock fan which makes him worthless so i retract any previous positive statement i made about him.

As a Dale Jr. fan I realize that he both benefits and loses out because he is Dale Earnhardt's namesake. When he finishes in the Top 12 in points and make the Chase people say "He didn't win it, so he is a dissapointment". When guys like Ryan Newman, Kevin Harvick or Matt Kenseth finish 9th people say "That guy had a good season." So he got alot because of who his daddy is, but he also has unfair expectations that other drivers don't.

Before this season a Kyle Busch fan told me to take off my Jr. hat because "Jr. sucks", so I asked him what he thought of Ryan Newman, Matt Kenseth, Kevin Harvick, and Kurt Busch. He preceeded to tell me how awesome and incredible all of those drivers were. I told him that Dale Jr. has more career wins than all of those guys so why does he think they are quality drivers and Dale Jr suck and he was in disbelief. He isn't on the level of Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart, Jimmy Johnson, or Kyle Busch, but he is a good driver. I think he has 3 top 5 cup finishes. That is not that bad at all.

Dale Jr. is one of the top 10 to 15 drivers in Nascar today and many drivers like that have won titles over the history of Nascar. All he has to do is one time in his career make the chase and be awesome in the final ten races. I hope he just does it once and I'll be happy. Most Jr. fans understand that he aint his daddy and we will pull for him whether he makes mistakes or not.

I think he pulls for USuC just because he is a Steve Spurrier fan. He loves the Redskins and when Spurrier became the coach at USuC he decided to pull for them. I doubt he actually gives a dang about whether USuC loses or not!!!
