Enjoy it
Embrace it
Wrap yourself up in it for the next year.
You have no understanding of how the attitude of gamecock nation in the last 36 hours has impacted this rivalry.
The changes are coming and I know that the importance of this rivalry has been made to Dabo. Gamecock nation couldn't win with class, now they need to understand there is a price to pay for that.

I'm sorry....I just have to fall out of my chair laughing at this. Please excuse me for a few moments....
OK, I'm back. Now, to address your hilarious comments above: you do realize that William Swinney has been a CU coach since 2003, right? He's been there for almost a decade now. He's been your head coach for 3.5 years now, and you think he's JUST NOW figuring out this in-state rivalry thing? You're joking, right??
I believe it was a televised game versus GT or FSU a year or so ago - I can't remember exactly, but it was either ESPN or ABC (which is pretty much the same thing), and a night game - where the network broadcasting the game did a brief in-game span through the Clemson locker-room. I was amazed to see huge murals painted on the walls: this game versus South Carolina.......that TD reception versus South Carolina......several all-time Clemson players in action-stills versus....yep, South Carolina. No Florida State. No Duke. No NC State or North Carolina. Records and scores of past games played against......yep, again South Carolina.
The entire CU lockerroom was a holy temple of Clemson playing South Carolina. South Carolina doesn't have anything like that involving Clemson in their lockerroom or player's lounge. They used to have "Beat Clemson" posters but Spurrier had those taken down back in '05 when he became our HC. We have a couple pictures of games/players versus CU in a hallway, but also have others involving UGA, UF, UT, etc.
Clemson players know totally about South Carolina, and the rivalry. It's in their face all the time. They always have placed a premium on beating USC, which IMO has played a big role in how the series has gone in past decades. A lot of Gamecock fans actually have felt that our past coaching staffs did not place enough of an emphasis on beating Clemson, Scott and Holtz are high up on the list there.
So it's particularly funny now that ONCE AGAIN Clemson fans (you, in particular) are struggling to come up with some discernible justification for why you're getting your arse handed to you in these games nowadays. First it was because you were looking past the game to the ACCCG (which you still lost), then it was because you didn't have Ellington (even though you had him AND Bellamy AND Watkins this time when we didn't have Lattimore, AND you had Spiller in '09).
Now this year the reason was because Swinney or whoever didn't fully appreciate the significance of the rivalry?? You are a hoot, cufan, I do give you that......
:p

No....I'm here to stay. I'm not looking for credibility in a rivalry forum, and don't expect others to give it to me. I'm just enjoying the smack talk that one often has between in-state college football rivals. There hasn't really been much between USC and CU in the past month or so to talk about, so really the first relevant thing was this game.
I must say that CU has had a much better season than I expected them to have. Boyd has developed into a solid QB for you. The big issues with your team moving forward will be your OL, as it hasn't been exactly the best one would expect with all the upperclassmen leadership. For 2012, you'll no longer have Price, McClain, Smith, or Walker. You're also losing back-up OL Cloy, who is listed as back-up to both Freeman and McClain. That will be a lot of turnover on the line, which played a huge role in what your team was able to do and NOT do this season....

For a "dumb ass" Gamecock fan, I think you got this analysis right. Our OL was pushed all over the field or at least into our own backfield all night long. Even a great QB would have struggled to throw the ball with Ingram and Clowney hanging all over them. It was a sad turn of events for Tiger fans.

This was the main reason why I started this thread, mostly regarding the future of both programs and how they might match up next season. Besides the losses for Clemson on their OL, they are also almost losing their entire starting DL from this season, with Branch, Thompson, and Moore all seniors this year. Also losing DE back-up Kourtnei Brown as well. That's a HUGE loss to both the O and D lines, with very, very little behind them with any kind of substantial experience.
All that is left from the defensive front is DE Malliciah Goodman. I have never been that impressed with Goodman, and now it looks like he will be your team's anchor on defense. True freshman DE Cory Crawford will obviously step up into a starter's role: prior to the season starting, CU fans foolishly compared Crawford favorably to our Clowney. I think we all have a better and more realistic perspective regarding that, lol. With Hall also being a senior, Clemson stands to lose their top 3 tacklers from 2011 and 4 of their top 7. One wonders if rising seniors Hawkins, Willard, or Brewer might opt out for the NFL. Either way the Cu defense will be very inexperienced next season....

Oh dear, I hope I didn't put a damper on y'all's hopes for next season, with all my "this player is leaving, that player is leaving" talk above. Come on, folks: it's still fun to talk about Tiger football....
isn't it?

He is annoying because he is a Gamecock talking smack on the Smack thread. So what? I have alot more important things to think about. If you don't like what he says, then just don't click on this thread or anything with his name next to it.

What was I called out on.....was I called out on my tongue-in-cheek ribbing of some Clemson t-shirts about beating Auburn? OK, that's fine....I wasn't taking that seriously to begin with, and I knew that those t-shirts are made for pretty much all FB teams, and have been for years and years. But that wasn't going to keep me from having some fun. But you got me, champ....

What's conjecture about players leaving after this season? Do you disagree? I'd be interested in reading your thoughts on the subject.....
