For Clemson to start being competitive against South Carolina again??? To make up some rumor or misrepresentation of a comment made by someone, and attribute it to Steve Spurrier? This is sad. This is what has come of Clemson football.....

I was at that game. I always listen to the Gamecock Network, with Todd Ellis and Tommy Suggs, two former USC Gamecocks, call the games. I have this little mp3 player that I always take with me, so I can listen to their broadcast during the games, and get insider info such as what players get injured during the games, or insight into playcalling, etc. I get to hear the names of players that I can't see from my seats in the stadium. It gives me a little extra info for the games....

Todd Ellis made that comment about USC "not being Alabama or LSU, but we ain't Clemson" to Suggs, as the game was ending and the players and coaches were heading to midfield to shake hands. Ellis hadn't had a chance to get down from the booth to interview Spurrier yet. He said it to Suggs, who got a chuckle out of it. I have to say, I did too.....

Spurrier never made that comment. A former USC Gamecock who has always been passionate about his former college team did. It was recorded on air, and it was made when Steve Spurrier was still on the football field.

William Swinney and the Tiger Nation have collectively wadded their panties so tight over this one, they are squeezing out moisture. I have to say, I like the way this little distraction is taking place, and occupying your head coach, at such a crucial time of your game week for your conference championship game. And he hasn't even gotten it close to being right. LMAO......

2. He said he didnt think Spurrier made the comments but he assumed he did cause there was no rebuddle.

Personally I dont give a flying ducks wing in a pond who made the comment.. Dabo showed fire and intensity.. and Frankly shut you coots up! say what you want about the past and all that crap you always do.. But the fact of the matter is.. Its a DOMINATION.. enjoy your win and please by all means rebuddle me cause im sure you will.. With useless jiberjabber that I could careless about and a half page book.. So with that being said.. enjoy your Championship.. ohhh oooppps Tweet That To UGA!!!!!

First off, Mr. Clemson Valedictorian, it's rebuttal. Second, Swinney is supposed to be a head coach of a major football program. He is supposed to understand what professional class is, but apparently ole' Dabo still has some growing up to do. Things of this nature is supposed to be below the HCs of major football programs: unless they know they have been directly called out, and know for a fact it has been done by other coaches, and it has been made in a public nature. And the higher-road HCs typically even THEN don't let it bother them, and stay out of the muck.....

But your head coach didn't, because he obviously is lacking in those areas of what he called: class. He admittedly states that he doesn't know WHO made the comment, but still goes off on his classless rant. He states that he was "pissed" - as you say - to even be asked the question, but still goes off on his classless rant. He is supposed to be trying to get his team focused on a championship game when their self-confidence is likely to be at it's lowest point of the season right now, but STILL he goes off on his classless rant about another team. It doesn't matter one bit that any of it is true (a lot of it is merely subjective opinion): it's still classless, and a amateur response on his part. He showed his true character with that rant, which was totally unnecessary....

What Swinney did last night smacks of the typical butt-hurt fan who has nothing left to do to defend themselves after being schooled by their rivals.....the old weak-ass come-back to a complete beat-down where all you can say is, "oh yeah? well, yo MAMA!" I know his comments last night won't embarrass the Tiger fanbase, because the Tiger fanbase typically isn't above this type of thing anyways.

But Swinney surely embarrassed Clemson University, and he embarrassed the head coaching profession, for going off on an un-provoked (really) petulant diatribe against an in-state opponent that has owned him during his head coaching career. It wouldn't have looked any more foolish had ole' Dabo fallen to the ground during his response, and kicked his legs and screamed and held his breath until he was blue in the face.

I personally hope Swinney is your head football coach for a long, long time. Y'all deserve him....
