Ellington Feeling Good

By Heath Bradley.

Andre Ellington is ready to make the most of his redshirt senior season at Clemson. One way he feels he can make the most impact is being able to avoid injury. Injuries have forced Ellington to miss playing time each of the past two seasons. Each time the Tigers have lost Ellington, the offense experienced struggles. Ellington wants to be on the field not only for his future in 2012, but also more importantly for the team.

One things fan should not worry about entering the 2012 season is Ellington’s health. According to Ellington and the coaching staff, he is healthy. Ellington told reporters today, “I feel pretty good the best I would say in a long time. Just coming out here working and getting better each day.” This is good news for Tiger fans, Ellington is a dynamic playmaker, and every play he is on the field is good news for the Tigers and bad news for opponents.

Ellington looks to remain on the field much more in 2012. This offseason he changed the intensity in which he worked out alone and with teammates, hoping to better prepare his body for the wear and tear of the college season.

“I changed the intensity. I worked really hard this offseason with the other guys, just trying to get better,” said Ellington.

While Ellington worked hard to better prepare his body for the season, he understands that minor injuries are a part of the game. He is going to makes sure to try and keep his body in the top shape by being treated for any injury, no matter how minor, in hopes of staying as healthy as possible throughout the duration of the season.

“I am going to do what I can to take care of my body. That is the main thing. Just getting treated for the small injuries I have, stay fresh,” said Ellington.

With one final season in a Tiger uniform, Ellington is ready to leave it on the field. He is hoping that the hard work and dedication he has put in over his career will show up this season, not only in his play on the field, but also in his ability to play through injuries.

“I am a veteran guy; this is my last year. All of the work I have put in the past, it is time for it come around now,” said Ellington.

Ellington’s ability to stay on the field and provide another dynamic playmaking weapon for Chad Morris and Tajh Boyd will play a key role in the success of this offense. His ability to not only make plays, but also protect the passer and be a leader on the field are second to none at the running back position.
