Clemson comes in at No. 11

The readers of The Clemson Insider have voted and you have ranked Florida State as the preseason No. 1 team in the first TCI Readers’ Top 25 College Football Poll.

The Seminoles, who won the last BCS National Championship, received all eight first place votes and totaled 200 points.

Clemson, who finished No. 7 in the final Coaches Poll last year, came in ranked No. 11 with 118 points. The Tigers are the second-highest ranked team from the Atlantic Coast Conference in the TCI Top 25. Overall, the ACC had four teams ranked in the top 25 with Miami coming in at No. 17 and North Carolina at No. 25.

To no surprise, the SEC led the way with eight teams ranked in the poll, including Alabama at No. 3 and Auburn at No. 4. The SEC was also represented by South Carolina at No. 12, Georgia at No. 13, LSU at No. 14, Texas A&M at No. 19, Missouri at No. 21 and Ole Miss at No. 24.

The Pac 12 followed the SEC with five teams, while the Big 10 and the ACC had four each. The Big 12 closed out with three selections. Notre Dame was the only independent ranked and that was at No. 20.
