For right now, Cole Stoudt is Clemson’s starting quarterback. Why?
First off, he earned it. He did not win the job in the summer as a consolation because Chad Kelly was dismissed from the team. No, he earned it by coming out each day and performing at the highest level possible this past spring.
“All I can tell you is when Cole Stoudt has played, he has performed well,” Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney said. “I think he is confident. He came into this spring with a three-quarterback competition and he had to win the job. He won the job. It was not given to him. He won it so I think his confidence grew from there.”
