Second in Nation

DeShaun Watson is second in the nation in passing efficiency.  Oregon’s Marcus Marioto leads the nation with a mark of 218.  Watson enters the game with a 212.7 mark.

Record Setting Performance

Freshman DeShaun Watson set or tied 12 Clemson or ACC records with his performance in the win over North Carolina.  Perhaps the biggest was setting the Clemson and tieing the ACC record with six touchdown passes.  It was also an ACC record  for passing touchdowns by a freshman.

41 in a Loss

NC State comes in with a 4-1 record after falling 56-41 to Florida State last week.  It is the second week in a row that the Tigers will face a team coming off a loss even though they scored 41 points.

Rush Defense Strong

Clemson has allowed only 104 yards rushing combined in the last three games.  If not for the bad fourth quarter at Georgia where Clemson gave up 212 yards rushing they would be among the national leaders in rush defense.

Domination Continues over non-ranked teams

Clemson continues to dominate teams that are not ranked.  The Tigers have now won their last 20 games against teams not ranked by double digits.
