I was talking with a Clemson fan on Tuesday and they asked me, “Does it seem to you that every time you watch an NFL game that they are talking about a player from Clemson?”
I thought to myself for a second and said, “Yes, It does.”
Going back to the days of Tommy Bowden we have always heard Clemson is a program that recruits well and has done a good job of developing players. And that is true. But since Dabo Swinney has become the head coach, Clemson has taken that to another level.
In all 26 former Tigers are on NFL active rosters this year and 13 of those are making significant contributions to their team. When Martavis Bryant caught a 39-yard touchdown pass in his NFL debut three weeks ago, ESPN analyst and former NFL coach Jon Gruden talked about how many wide receivers were making plays on Sundays in the NFL and how he wanted to go coach the wide receivers at Clemson.
