John Simpson knows about when he wants to decide which school he’ll attend to play football.
For now, he’s got four options. Clemson, South Carolina, Georgia and Wake Forest have all offered.
“Now, I’m just waiting, to see who wants me…I’ll make a decision around a little bit before my senior year, maybe earlier,” Simpson told TheClemsonInsider on Wednesday night.
He added, “I don’t really have that many schools, so I don’t really have an order. I don’t have anyone in front either, so it’s still a debate in between the four (offers) I have.”
Earlier that day, Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney stopped by Fort Dorchester High School to check in on Simpson and 2018 quarterback Dakereon Joyner. South Carolina and Georgia have also been by the school.
Elliott also visited last Friday, before Simpson left for a wrestling tournament in Tampa, Florida.
“It was a team tournament, so the team got second place, but I didn’t lose at all, so I did pretty good,” Simpson said.
Soon, Simpson will be on the road, hitting up a couple of schools on the Junior Day circuit.
“Right now, I know I’m going to Georgia,” he said. “I haven’t made my mind up if I’m going to Carolina or Clemson, because they’re both on the same day, so I know I’m going to Georgia. I’m going to Wake Forest and I might go to Tennessee.”
Simpson’s last visit to Clemson was in November for the South Carolina game.
“It was a good show, I must admit,” he said. “But I don’t really know how to explain it. It was a great day. I didn’t expect for it to go how it went. I was expecting it to be real close.”
