Three-star defensive end Nick Coe was in Clemson earlier this month for Junior Day.
A junior from Asheboro High School, it was the first trip to Clemson for Coe, who’s ranked by 247 as the No. 42 strong-side defensive end in the class of 2016.
“I had a good time at Junior Day and it was great. I liked walking around the campus,” Coe said, during an interview with TheClemsonInsider.
“I saw their equipment and rings and their spring practice. That’s one of the things that inspired me.”
While on campus, Coe spoke with Marion Hobby and Dan Brooks.
“One defensive line coach was talking about if I keep bringing my grades up, they’ll offer me. The other defensive line coach said I was a great defensive end and great player,” Coe said.
He added, “I think the campus was great, just walking around and seeing all the stuff. And the football facility was amazing.”
In addition to Clemson, Coe’s been to Florida State, UNC and Virginia Tech for junior days.
UNC, Virginia Tech and West Virginia have offered, so have Charlotte and Old Dominion.
As a junior, Coe had 70 tackles, 19 sacks and two fumble recoveries.
