TCI hands out some helmet stickers after Clemson’s 33-13 win over Wake Forest.
There were several worthy candidates in the Tigers’ home finale, from both sides of the ball.
Dorian O’Daniel
Tied with B.J. Goodson for a team-high seven tackles, O’Daniel was an active part of Clemson’s defense. The strong-side linebacker also recorded 1.5 tackles for loss.
Kevin Dodd
Dodd inched closer to Shaq Lawson, who leads the Tigers with 7.5 sacks this season. Dodd entered the night with 4.5 and tacked on two more against Wake Forest and is now within striking distance of his counterpart on the other end.
Germone Hopper
Last year’s shoot-out with UNC was the first time Hopper topped 100 yards receiving in a single game. Hopper surpassed the century-mark with three catches against the Demon Deacons, finishing with 120 yards an a touchdown. The 47-yard touchdown catch wasn’t his longest play of the day. His 63-yard catch at the end of the first quarter setup an 11-yard score by Deon Cain. The only blemish to Hopper’s day was the punt he muffed in the second half.
Deshaun Watson
Aside from the two hiccups, which came in the form of interceptions, Watson had another outstanding stat line. Watson threw for 343 yards and three touchdowns. He also rushed for 44 yards and a score. His rating of 167.7 topped his season mark of 160.3
Daniel Stone
The walk-on offensive tackle from Simpsonville was on the field in the fourth quarter, but he shows up in this week’s edition for his work during the pre-game festivities. Stone dropped down to one knee after his Senior Day trek down The Hill. On the Clemson sideline, in front of 80,000-plus, Stone proposed to his girlfriend, Morgan Helmendach.
