Justin Foster has taken a lot of visits to Clemson, probably more than any other prospect in the class of 2017.
The 6-foot-3, 230-pound four-star linebacker from Shelby-Crest (N.C.) was among the guests for last Saturday’s Junior Day.
“I’ve been there so many times. I’ve seen all the facilities and everything. I know they’re building the facility near the practice field,” Foster said. “A pretty unique thing about that Junior Day was Dabo Swinney was around everywhere we went.
“It was like he was a normal coach and not a head coach. He stayed around all the players, took pictures and talked with the family.”
The final event of the day was a group meeting with Dabo Swinney.
“It was like an hour. He just explained who he really was and what he’d done as a person and was a man of his word,” Foster said.
Clemson had him on campus for a few games in the fall. In the coming weeks and months, he’ll take some other visits.
“I have some junior days coming up, but I don’t know which schools I’m going to,” Foster said.
Auburn, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Oklahoma, South Carolina, UNC and Virginia Tech have also offered.
“I’m still open to all schools right now,” Foster said. “I’ll probably narrow down my list and everything right before the season starts this year.”
He added, “I’ll probably take a couple of official visits and go from there.”
As a junior, Foster had 67 tackles and three sacks.
