Tigers hosting a slew of talent Saturday

A ton of talent will gather in Tiger Town today for Clemson’s second junior day of the year.

The visitor list is loaded with prospects in the classes of 2019 and 2020. The list is also lengthy, as opposed to the Tigers’ junior day in late January that featured a select group of prospects.

The headling visitor doesn’t have far to travel. Local five-star defensive end Zacch Pickens of Anderson (S.C.) T.L. Hanna is expected to return to campus after attending a couple of games in the fall. Pickens, the top-ranked prospect in the Palmetto State for the 2019 class, has picked up offers from Alabama, LSU and Oklahoma this year to go with offers from Clemson, Georgia and South Carolina among others.

In contrast, the longest-distance visitor will be Folsom (Calif.) four-star wide receiver Joseph Ngata, who earned an offer from Clemson in January. A top-100 prospect in the 2019 class per some recruiting services, Ngata carries other offers from the likes of Michigan, Notre Dame, Penn State, Southern Cal and Washington.

Riverdale (Ga.)’s Jaelyn Lay (pictured) will be back on campus after attending the January junior day. Clemson offered him as a tight end during that visit, and he has subsequently collected offers from Georgia, Georgia Tech, Miami, Louisville, Ole Miss, Maryland and others.

A few other Peach State prospects with Clemson offers are slated to visit, as well, including Atlanta (Ga.) Marist safety Kyle Hamilton, Lawrenceville (Ga.) Archer defensive end Colby Wooden and Forest Park (Ga.) defensive lineman Justin Eboigbe (tenative).

One expected visitor whose recruitment has taken off of late is Baton Rouge (La.) University Lab 2019 linebacker Bryton Constantin. After scoring an offer from Clemson last week, Constantin has hauled in offers from schools such as Auburn, Florida, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Tennessee and TCU.

Other 2019 prospects that have recently received Clemson offers and are scheduled to visit include Malvern (Pa.) Prep linebacker Keith Maguire; Seminary (Miss.) defensive end Nathan Pickering; Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas cornerback Jaden Davis; Shelby (N.C.) Crest safety Lannden Zanders; Birmingham (Ala.) Jackson-Olin linebacker Lavonta Bentley; Pinson (Ala.) Clay-Chalkville defensive tackle D.J. Dale; Orlando (Fla.) Jones defensive end Raymond Cutts; and linebacker teammate Marcus Tillman Jr.

Davis owns over 40 offers, while Pickering is ranked as a top-100 overall prospect. Bentley saw his stock stockrocket in January when he amassed offers from Clemson, Alabama, Auburn, Florida, LSU, Louisville, Oregon and others within a week. Tennessee followed Clemson with an offer to Zanders in late February. Maguire told TCI that the Tigers were in his top three at the time of their offer along with Notre Dame and Ohio State. Clemson offered both Cutts and Tillman this week.

Among the currently unoffered junior prospects that are expected to be on hand include but aren’t limited to Jefferson (Ga.) tight end Garmon Randolph; West Chester (Ohio) Lakota West defensive end Steven Faucheux; Decatur (Ala.) Austin cornerback Reddy Steward; Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) offensive tackle Kaleb Boateng; Bethesda (Md.) Landon School safety Jalen Williams; Carrolton (Ga.) athlete Garrison Hand; Pelham (Ala.) defensive end Brock Higdon; Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy punter Aidan Swanson; Philadelphia (Pa.) Imhotep Institute wide receiver Yusuf Terry; Alabaster (Ala.) Thompson linebacker Will Conner; and offensive tackle teammate Amari Kight.

Kight is the most high-profile prospect of the bunch with offers from Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Tennessee and others.

Some of the top 2020 recruits on the visitor list are Damascus (Md.) defensive end Bryan Bresee; Charlotte (N.C.) Providence Day defensive end Jacolbe Cowan; Trussville (Ala.) Hewitt-Trussville wide receiver Dazalin Worsham; Calera (Ala.) defensive lineman Jayson Jones; Marietta (Ga.) quarterback Harrison Bailey; Canton (Ga.) Creekview offensive tackle John Williams; Nashville (Tenn.) Ensworth defensive end Tyler Baron; and cornerback teammate Keshawn Lawrence; Carrollton (Ga.) offensive guard Ty Murray; and linebacker teammate Kevin Swint.

Worsham notched an offer from Clemson in January. Bresee is ranked as the No. 1 overall prospect in his class, while Cowan is a top-10 national prospect in the class as well.
