Lawrence: ‘It Felt Great’

Former Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence met with the media on Sunday after leading the Jacksonville Jaguars to a Week 4 win in London.

Lawrence and the Jags beat the Atlanta Falcons 23-7 at Wembley Stadium, improving to 2-2 on the season and bouncing back from a 37-17 home loss to the Houston Texans in Week 3.

“It felt great, obviously just to find a way to win, and then especially here in London. It’s a lot of fun when you win here. It’s not too much fun when you lose, especially being so far from home,” Lawrence said.

“That was obviously a good response for our team. Our defense played great once again. It was huge, them bouncing back. Offensively, I thought we played well at times and in spurts and found a way to win. We did some things better than we have in the past, but still got a lot to clean up. But it’s a lot easier to coach off a win obviously.”

Lawrence went 23-of-30 passing for 207 yards and a touchdown pass against the Falcons. That score came in the first quarter when he avoided pressure before throwing a pretty 30-yard deep ball to Calvin Ridley, while taking a hit.

Lawrence also showed off his wheels on a 22-yard scramble and finished with 42 rushing yards on eight carries, giving him 249 total yards in the game.

Up next for Lawrence and the Jags is another London game in Week 5 – after playing at Wembley Stadium, they’ll be moving to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for a matchup against the 3-1 Buffalo Bills (9:30 a.m. ET, NFL Network).

“There’s a ton more out there for us offensively. A couple plays that I missed that I’m kind of kicking myself over,” Lawrence said. “But we’re going to turn the page going to Buffalo and make the corrections and get ready to put a game plan together to go win that game.”
