Ahead of the early signing period that begins Wednesday, Clemson has flipped this prospect who was formerly committed elsewhere.
Rome (Ga.) 2024 safety Joe Wilkinson announced his commitment to the Tigers on Tuesday.
Wilkinson is coming off an official visit to Clemson this past weekend.
The 6-foot-1, 185-pounder decommitted from Appalachian State on Sunday. He had previously been committed to the Mountaineers since this past April, when he chose them over offers from East Carolina, Georgia Southern, Jacksonville State, Liberty, Memphis, Miami (Ohio) and UNLV.
Wilkinson, who was the defensive player of the year in his 6A region this season, brings the total number of commits in Clemson’s 2024 class to 19.
