Tigers Go National

Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney and the Tigers have taken recruiting to another level the past few years.  The Tigers are recruiting on a national level, not just in the Southeast.

The Tigers already have commitments for 2013 from Hawaii, Indiana and Maryland and a commitment from Texas for the 2014 class.  Clemson will continue to tap South Carolina, Georgia, North Carolina and Florida for most of their signees   but they are now able to go outside of the region and land some of the top players in the nation.

Last season with the Tiger’s sitting at No. 5 in the BCS and 8-0 in the nation you couldn’t turn on ESPN without seeing Tajh Boyd, Sammy Watkins or the Tigers.  The exposure gained with last year’s success along with bringing in top coordinators from other part of the country has helped the Tigers go national.

Coach Swinney and his staff have shown time and time again that if they can get a recruit on campus many of them will leave saying “there is something in those hills”.  As the Tigers continue to build a national power expect the recruiting footprint to expand even more.

A breakdown of the last player to sign with Clemson from each state follows:
