4-star Williams Announces for Clemson

Santee, SC – 4-star receiver Mike Williams held a press conference at Lake Marion High School Tuesday afternoon where he announced that he is committing to the Clemson Tigers.

Williams sat at a table with his family.  On the table where two helmets for Lake Marion and a hat for Clemson and one for South Carolina.  Mike picked up the hat for Clemson and put it on when asked to name his decision.

“I want to be a Tiger,” Williams later told the crowd that had gathered for the announcement.

In the end the decision came down to the Tigers and the Gamecocks.  After visiting Clemson camp in June Williams knew he wanted to be a Tiger.

The 6-4, 190 pound receiver is the best in the Palmetto state.  Williams has an impressive offer list that includes South Carolina, Georgia, Notre Dame, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Mississippi State and Alabama.

Williams becomes the third receiver for Clemson’s 2013 class joining Demarcus Robinson and Ryan Jenkins.  Mike is the 16th overall prospect.
