For golfers moving day is Saturday as they try to position themselves for the stretch run on Sunday.  For the Tigers this is moving week.  For many of the players battling to move up the depth chart this week will decide their fate.

The Tigers will scrimmage on Wednesday and then again on Saturday.  This will be the final week dedicated just to football for the team as classes begin next week.  Also next week the coaching staff will start to implement the game plan for the Auburn game.

For some of the freshmen trying to see the field in 2012 this week will be critical.  By Sunday the staff will have a good idea which player will red-shirt in 2012 and which will play.  There may still be a few on the bubble and injuries can always change the plans but most of the decisions will be made after this week.

For Carlos Watkins and D.J. Reader how they perform in the two scrimmages this week will likely determine which one of them will play in 2012 and which will red-shirt.  With the depth issues at defensive tackle both could see the field this fall, but if there is clear separation this week between the two then one may be added to the rotation with Williams, Jarrett and Watson and the other may find themselves on the scout team next week.

The two scrimmages this week may also decide the battle for the backup quarterback.  Will Chad Kelly be able to pass Stoudt and Roberts in the battle for No. 2 or will he head to the scout team as a red-shirt.   Of course any injury to Tajh would quickly change any red-shirt plans if the staff decides to move in that direction.

This is also a big week for Battle, Guillermo and DeStefano as they look to make the two-deep and avoid a red-shirt.  Oliver Jones has already been tabbed as a likely red-shirt.

The Tigers have one of the best and deepest receiving cores in the nation.  Can true freshman Germone Hopper show what is needed this week to demand playing time this fall?  Or will the staff feel comfortable with the current two-deep and decide to red-shirt one of the fastest guys on the team?

One thing is for certain this next week will go a long way in determining the depth chart for the Tigers as they prepare to defend the ACC title.  For those wanting to see playing time this fall the time they must perform this week to show the staff they can be depended on when the live bullets start in September.
