Tankersley Adjusting to Prep School

Cordrea Tankersley has hoped to be in the Georgia Dome last weekend helping the Tigers defeat Auburn.  Instead he is spending a semester at Hargrave Military Academy so that he can enroll at Clemson in January.

TheClemsonInsider.com caught up with the former Shrine Bowl standout to see how the adjustment is going to military school.

“It is going well.  I am becoming a better person and a better football player,” said Tankersley.

The talented defensive back could play safety or corner.  Where are the coaches using him at Hargrave?

“They are using me at corner,” replied Tankersley.

Cordrea is getting a chance to get to know future teammate Shaq Lawson well.

“We are hanging out a lot.  We are roommates,” said Tankersley.

A number of former Tigers have benefited from a trip to prep school before starting their Clemson careers.  Cordrea believe he will be a much better player when he arrives at Clemson.

“The competition is very intense.  There are really good football players here. It’s gonna help tremendously.  I gotta live up to the hype and become great.  It is helping me get bigger, stronger and faster at a quick pace,” said Tankersley.
