Lawson having strong prep season

Former Daniel standout Shaq Lawson had hoped to be helping the Tigers chase another ACC Championship this fall, but instead made a detour at Hargrave Academcy.  The 4-star defensive end is having an outstanding season.

“It is going pretty good.  I have 28 tackles, eight pass breakups, five sacks and a safety so far,”  said Lawson.

Shaq is rooming with another future Tiger.

“Cordrea and I are rooming together.  We are getting pretty close.  He is playing well.  He has the most interceptions in the secondary,” said Lawson.

Saturday night the two future Tigers watched Clemson battle Florida State.

“We got to watch it.  Clemson played well.  They just didn’t finish,” said Lawson.

In November Shaq and Cordrea will take their official visits to Clemson.

“We are going to take our official visits for the South Carolina game,” said Lawson.

The year at prep school will have Shaq ready to compete when he arrives on campus in January.

“The competition is great.  I am getting stronger and faster,” said Lawson.
