4-star defensive end Elijah Daniel helped lead Avon to an easy victory Friday night.
“It went really well. We won 34-0. I had seven or eight tackles and three sacks,” said Daniel.
Elijah is finding the quarterback frequently this season.
“I have eight or nine sacks on the year,” said Daniel.
One more challenge awaits Elijah and his teammates before the playoffs.
“We have a tough one this week. It is our last regular season game and an away game,” said Daniel.
Saturday afternoon the prize recruit watched Clemson on television along with his family.
“I watched it at my house with my family. Clemson has a really good offense. Their defense is starting to pick it up. The option is a hard offense to play against,” said Daniel.
Last week coach Venables spoke with the top defensive end.
“I talked with him on Thursday. He just asked me about my season and told me to keep doing good in the classroom,” said Daniel.
When will Elijah make it down to Clemson?
“I don’t really know yet. I haven’t discussed that yet. It will probably be after my season,” replied Daniel.
Elijah has been considering taking a few other visits. Are they in the plans?
“I don’t know yet. I am just trying to focus on my season and my grades,” replied Daniel.
When asked about his commitment status to Clemson, Daniel responded, “It is still strong”.
What would make Elijah take other visits?
“I would just want to see stuff. That is about it,” replied Daniel.
The Clemson staff has frowned on committed players taking other visits. What is the Clemson staff telling Elijah?
“They just basically told me I don’t need to take any other visits. They understand I want to go out and experience a lot of things, but they tell me not to take other visits,” replied Daniel.
When will Elijah know whether he will take any other visits?
“I am not sure. I have to talk it over with my family,” replied Daniel.
