Tigers Playing for a Trophy
Clemson is playing for a share of the Atlantic Division Saturday. Although Florida State will head to the ACC Championship game because of their victory over Clemson, the Tigers will still earn a trophy for sharing the Atlantic Division crown. That would make three times in four years that the Tigers win or share the Atlantic Division title.
Going for Tenth Victory
Clemson will be looking for their tenth victory of the season when they battle NC State. It would be the second ten win season in a row for the Tigers. Something that hasn’t happened since 1987-90 when the Tigers won ten games in four straight seasons.
It would be the ninth time Clemson has won ten games in a season.
Boyd Looking for Win No. 20
Tajh is having an outstanding season. He is second in that nation and first in the ACC in passing efficiency with 172.0 rating.
A win Saturday would be Tajh’s 20th victory as the starting quarterback for the Tigers. He would become only the seventh player to win 20 games as the starting quarterback.
Defense Continues to Improve
The Clemson defense continues to improve each week. The Tigers are now the 33rd best defense in the nation in scoring allowing only 22.4 points per game.
Last week Clemson held Maryland to 10 points, 10 first downs and only 180 yards of total offense.
Three More TD’s for Record
Clemson needs just three more touchdowns to set a record for touchdowns in a season. The Tigers have 32 passing, 21 rushing and two by defensive returns.
