TheClemsonInsider.com caught up with 5-star defensive end Carl Lawson Tuesday evening just hours after the news broke that Guz Malzahn would be the Tigers new coach.

What did Carl think of the hire?

“I don’t want to talk about it,” Lawson responded.

Coach Malzahn didn’t waste any time reaching out to one of Auburn’s prize recruits.

“Yeah, I talked to him,” confirmed Lawson.

In November Lawson visited Clemson and had planned to make a return visit.  Is that visit still in the works?

“Probably yeah.  I am not sure when,” said Lawson.

When asked if he had a timeframe on when he would have a final decision, Lawson responded, “I am committed to Auburn”.

Which other schools might get visits?

“I am not sure.  I really don’t want to comment on that right now,” replied Lawson.
