The Chick-Fil-A Bowl has been played in Atlanta, Georgia since December 1968. The game was known as the Peach Bowl from its inception until 1997, the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl from 1998 to 2005, and assumed its current name beginning with the 2006 game.

The first three Peach Bowls were played at Grant Field (Bobby Dodd Stadium) on the Georgia Tech campus in Atlanta. Between 1971 and 1991, Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium hosted the bowl until it moved to its current location (Georgia Dome) for the 1992 contest.

Seven of the first ten games (all but 1968, 71, & 74) pitted an ACC team against an at-large opponent and since 1993 the bowl has matched teams from the ACC and SEC. All-time in the Chick-Fil-A Bowl, ACC teams are 14-19 while SEC teams are 16-13-1 including a 12-10 SEC lead in games between the two conferences.

Today, TheClemsonInsider.com takes a look back at the great tradition of the Chick-Fil-A Bowl.
