The Tigers are 22-20-1 all-time in bowl games, tied for the ninth most bowl wins in NCAA history. Dating back to the 1936 Sugar Bowl against TCU, LSU has played bowls in five separate states against 29 different teams.

This year’s Chick-Fil-A Bowl will mark the Tigers first trip to Atlanta for a postseason game since 2008 and its sixth appearance in the game. LSU is 5-0 in their previous trips to Atlanta with all games coming against current ACC teams. The Tigers have faced Clemson in a bowl game twice in their history, a 7-0 LSU win in the 1959 Sugar Bowl and a 10-7 LSU win in the 1996 Peach Bowl.

Today, TheClemsonInsider.com takes a look back at LSU’s great bowl tradition.
