Ask TCI

Time for the latest edition of Ask TCI.  Each week we will take questions on the message board The Rock.  We will take questions up until midnight on Tuesday.

Each weekend we will run our Ask TCI feature with answers to some of the questions asked by the Clemson Insiders.  Make sure to get your questions in next week.

Question – When can Clemson Fans expect to see the best coached team in America show up on the field since Clemson has the highest paid staff among all public schools?

TCI – Well that is a great question.  The staff has been pointing to 2013 as “they year” for the last few years.  Clemson should enter the 2013 season ranked as high as they have been in years.

As far as being the best coaches team, recruiting of course has something to do with how the team looks on the field.  The great receiver talent as certainly made Jeff Scott look like one of the best receiver coaches in the nation.  The real answer to this question is when Clemson gets the talent on both sides of the ball.

Question – What is going on with the Lady tigers? 3 transfers this year, but last recruiting class was a top 20 class.

TCI – There are different reasons for some of the transfers but we can tell you the players see the writing on the wall.  They see that a coaching change is on the horizon.

Question – Clemson’s biggest recruiting surprise from the 2013 class may come from the decision of __________?

TCI – Everyone always wants to know about the recruiting surprise.  Hopefully if we are doing our job there aren’t too many surprises.  At this point Ogundeko, Crowder or Adams should not be a surprise.  Right now Alexander or Lawson would probably be the biggest surprise.

Question – Who do you think will start at tailback against UGA and how much of an impact do you foresee Tyshon Dye and/or Wayne Gallman having next year? Do the coaches expect one, or both, of them to play early?

TCI – Right now we would project McDowell or Howard to start against Georgia.  As the season moves along we expect Dye to get significant snaps and could start at some point.  Brooks will get a lot more playing time next year as well.  Although he didn’t play as much as some would have expected this year, the time he did see in the games and the practice time will allow him to make more of an impact in 2013.  Gallman will also get his shot at running back next season.

Question – With the possibility of losing one or two WR recruits this year, do you think Dabo might have interest in GT’s Jeff Green? I just read where he has left the team and is possibly going to transfer.

TCI – Well the good news is, at least for now, Robinson is back committed to the Tigers.  We also believe Jenkins will sign with Clemson.  We don’t believe the Tigers will go after Green and typically you can’t get transfers from within the conference.

Question – I know you’ve spoken about a possible ACC/Notre Dame Network on either ESPN or NBC. What would be the content on the Network since ESPN already owns all of our tier rights?

TCI – All of that is part of the current negotiations.  With the changes the ACC is able to renegotiate the contracts.  The ACC Network would be 24/7 ACC sports.  They would obviously show some football, but would mostly show the other sports.  As you know there are very few ACC baseball games on television.  That would change with the new ACC network.  You would also see a lot of coverage of the Olympic sports.

We also think if NBC gets their way you could see and ACC game of the week on NBC like the SEC has with CBS.

We will have to see how this all shakes out but there are some very interesting possibilities here.

Question – Is the new indoor facility outfitted with heating and cooling? From what I understand there are only a few that have air conditioning(Alabama for one).

TCI – The new indoor facility will have both air conditioning and heat.   Not sure if they are both working yet or not, but they will have both.
