Seth Ryan took his official visit to Clemson last weekend and before he left campus the walk-on had committed to Clemson. The son of New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan fell in love with Clemson. When asked why he committed to be a Tiger the talented young player raved about the town.
“I loved the town. I loved the small town atmosphere, the facilities and the coaches. They are some of the best in the business. I loved the players and the other recruits,” said Ryan.
What was his favorite part of the visit?
“The stadium tour, and the indoor facility,” replied Ryan.
When asked what NFL player best resembles his style of play Seth said, “Wes Welker. I try and model my game after him. When you watch him play he only runs like five routes, but he runs them all precise, quick, and he has great hands.”
How does he see the coaches using him as a Tiger?
“I think slot receiver. Slot or outside,” replied Ryan.
Seth hopes to get a good education and enjoy his time at Clemson.
“I want to graduate. That’s my priority. I want to major in Sports Management or Communications. I want to be known as a great guy on and off the field,” said Ryan.
Seth will be a good story to keep an eye on over the next few years. While he may be a walk-on that does not mean he won’t see the field at some point. He certainly comes from a great football pedigree.
