Future Clemson Tiger Dane Rogers is working hard to make sure he is ready to compete when he arrives on campus later this summer.
“I got the workout plan from the coaches. It is going real smooth. It is not as difficult as I thought it would be. It is just more reps, but it still gives you a workout,” said Rogers.
Dane plans to get down to Clemson for spring practice and to bring a teammate.
“I might take Roseboro (Dominique) to a practice. I want him to meet the coaches. I keep in his ear about Clemson. He got an offer today from UNC,” said Rogers.
Contact with the coaching staff has fallen off since signing day.
“I have talked with the coaches much since signing day. I heard from coach Brooks a few weeks ago,” said Rogers.
Dane can’t wait until June when he can move down to Clemson. In the meantime he plans to enjoy his last few months in Shelby.
“I can’t wait. I know I have to enjoy these last few months of high school. I have to take it one day at a time and make sure I am ready for college. As far as the school work goes I know I will be ready,” said Rogers.
What are Dane’s goals for his first year at Clemson?
“I want to reach the highest level I can on and off the field. I want to compete with everyone else. I want to reach high standards in academics. Once I do that I will be in good shape the next three years. I want to set the bar high my first year,” replied Rogers.
The Shrine Bowl MVP keeps in touch with his cousin Carlos.
“I don’t talk to him much on the phone, but whenever I am coming down I call him a few days ahead of time. I always spend time when I am down at Clemson,” said Rogers.
