TheClemsonInsider.com caught up with 4-star defensive tackle Dontavius Russell earlier this week. The 6-3, 300 lb DT out of Georgia recently picked up an offer from the Tigers.
“I heard from Clemson last week. Clemson offered me a scholarship. They want me to come up for a visit. Either a spring practice or the spring game,” said Russell.
Coach Brooks has been the one recruiting Dontavius for the Tigers, but Clemson has a lot of competition for the stand out DT.
“Alabama, Florida, G.T, UGA, Auburn are all recruiting me. South Carolina to. They are all after me,” said Russell.
Dontavius doesn’t have a time table as to when he wants to make a decision.
“I want to take my time and find the place that feels right for me,” said Russell.
As for the offseason Dontavius is taking part in his schools Strength and Conditioning program, as well as there Agility program. Will the prize recruit be attending any summer camps?
“I don’t know yet,” replied Russell.
