TheClemsonInsider.com caught up with Steven Duggar and Jay Baum following the Tiger’s 9-2 win over Wofford.

Steven Duggar

On his four RBI day against Wofford:

We have to get these midweek wins. We feel short last week and weekend, but we wanted to come out and start the week off solid. I just felt really good up at the plate. It feels like I am continuing to put some solid swings on the ball and I am just trying to stay within my approach.

On moving around in the batting order:

If I have to hit ninth to help this team win, I will do it. It does not mean that I am hitting good or bad, but honestly it gives me an opportunity to get some more RBI like you saw today. Jay Baum moved up to the two-hole today and proved he is well deserving of it. If Brittle can keep getting on base with Baum, Wilkerson and Shane Kennedy do a good job of moving them. The top five or six guys need to keep doing what they are doing and the bottom of the order continues their production then we are going to be fine.

On the team going into ACC play:

It was good to come out and get this win under our belt and carry some momentum into the weekend. NC State will be a tough opponent for us, but I think we have a pretty solid team. Any momentum we can get going up there is good. We are looking forward to going there and prove we are worthy of competing at the top of the ACC.

Jay Baum

On his day at the plate:

It was a good day for me. I came into the dugout and saw I was hitting in the two-hole, so I was pretty excited about that. I had three pretty good at-bats so there is not much to complain about there.

On the team’s aggressiveness on the base paths this season:

This year we have a ton of speed so Coach Leggett had been stealing bases, taking the extra bag on balls in the gap, and stuff like that. We are just trying to utilize the speed that we have with this team.

On the move to the infield:

Playing the outfield last year was one of the first times I have played that position for an entire season. It is nice to move back into the infield. I feel much more comfortable there. I have been taking a ton of ground balls at third and it just feels good over there.
