Around the ACC

The ACC went 14-2 in non-conference midweek action to move to 164-48 (.774) against non-ACC opponents on the year. Only Duke had an undefeated week (4-0) and six teams (Florida State, Georgia Tech, NC State, North Carolina, Virginia, & Virginia Tech) are ranked in at least one of the three major polls this week led by the top-ranked Tar Heels. The three teams slated to join the ACC in coming seasons (Louisville, Notre Dame, and Pittsburgh) went 9-4 during the week with three of the games coming against each other as they moved to a combined 59-21 (.738) this season.

The Eagles were swept at Duke last weekend but rebounded with midweek wins at Connecticut and at home against Harvard. This weekend Boston College welcomes Clemson for a three-game set before road games at Dartmouth and Massachusetts.

The Blue Devils swept three games from Boston College before beating Davidson in midweek action on Tuesday. This weekend Duke continues their home stand with three games against #12 Georgia Tech followed by midweek tilts with UNC Greensboro and NC Central.

 

salvaged a game in the three-game series at Clemson before continuing their road swing by splitting midweek games at Campbell (loss) and at North Carolina A&T (win). This weekend Duke hosts Boston College for three games before Davidson comes to town on Tuesday.

The Seminoles, ranked as high as #5 in the nation, dropped a tough series at Virginia Tech and then won a single game over Florida Gulf Coast. This weekend Florida State travels to archrival Miami (FL) for three games before wrapping up their series with Florida Tuesday.
