One of the first players to get a visit from the Clemson staff this spring was 6-6, 210 pound Kalan Ritchie.
“Coach Elliott came by the school,” said Ritchie.
The Tigers weren’t the only school to stop by Goose Creek.
“South Carolina also came by along with Louisville and Georgia,” said Ritchie.
What is Kalan hearing from the Clemson staff?
“It is pretty much the same. Clemson wants me to play defensive end,” said Ritchie.
What position does Kalan prefer to play?
“I would rather play offense. Most schools are looking at me for tight end. Clemson is the only one that wants me on defense. At first I wanted to play defense, but not any more,” said Ritchie.
The Gamecocks are making some progress with Kalan.
“South Carolina says I could play both,” said Ritchie.
When asked about his current leaders, Ritchie responded, “I don’t have one. Everything is open”.
The Tigers will get another visit this summer.
“I want to take a trip to Clemson. I was also planning to go to the Alabama camp,” said Ritchie.
The prize recruit is not in a hurry to make a decision.
“It won’t be any time soon. I am still taking it slow to make sure I pick the right school,” said Ritchie.
