4-star linebacker Chris Register will make the long trip to Oregon this weekend to join many of the nation’s top prospects at The Opening.
“I am pretty excited about it. I am leaving the house around five on Sunday morning. I am flying from Greensboro to Atlanta and then out to Oregon,” said Register.
The prize recruit hopes to earn another invite while at The Opening.
“I am trying to get into one of the All-American games. I want to show them what I can do,” said Register.
Earlier this month Chris visited Clemson for the Dabo Swinney Football Camp.
“It was nice. I got to meet with the coaches and watch them work at camp,” said Register.
Chris hopes the Tigers will offer one of his teammates.
“I am trying to get my teammate (Emmanuel Mosely) to join me. They said they like him, but not sure because they are low on numbers. It is that way at a lot of schools,” said Register.
Chris is already building good relationships with some of his future teammates.
“As soon as I committed DeShaun got in contact with me. I also heard from Demarre. I am already good with D.J. Reader,” said Register.
Chris is also friends with 5-star defensive end Lorenzo Featherston from Greensboro.
“I know Clemson was his No. 1 choice not too long ago, but we haven’t talked recently,” said Register.
Chris is already building on his relationship with coach Venables.
“We are getting pretty close. I liked watching him at camp. I actually recorded some of the stuff he did and have been doing it here at school,” said Register.
Dudley looks to have a strong defense for the upcoming season.
“Our defense should be real good. It should be the strength of the team,” said Regsiter.
