TCI Hitter-of-the Year               #17 Steve Wilkerson

The senior second baseman from Roswell, GA was the TCI Hitter-of-the-Year award winner for 2014. In 56 games, Wilkerson had 65 hits for a .317 average. On the season, he tied for the team lead in doubles (18), had a triple, a team-best six homers, team-leading 42 RBI, scored 33 runs, had 21 walks, and was 8-9 on stolen bases.

TCI Pitcher-of-the-Year             #23 Daniel Gossett

The junior righthander from Lyman, SC was the TCI Pitcher-of-the-Year award winner for 2014. Gossett finished the season 7-2 with a 1.93 ERA over 15 appearances, all starts, and had two complete games. In 107.1 innings pitched, he allowed 25 runs (23 earned) on 78 hits (.202 OBA) and 30 walks against 107 strikeouts.

Weekend Notes:

On the season, Clemson outscored their opponents 337 (5.5 RPG) to 285 (4.7 RPG) while outing the opposition 572 (.274 BA) to 502 (.243 BA). The Tigers totaled 116 doubles, 12 triples, 28 homers, 241 walks, 30 HBPs, and 336 strikeouts while going 89-120 on stolen bases. Clemson’s pitching staff had a 3.94 ERA, allowing 285 runs (240 earned) in 548.0 innings with 237 walks, 60 hit batters, and 496 strikeouts. The Tigers fielded at a .962 clip, committing 89 errors in 2344 chances.

Leggett Moving Up The All-Time Wins Lists

As TCI has followed over the past several seasons, Clemson Head Coach Jack Leggett has been moving up the All-Times Wins List by a Division I Head Coach. At the ACC Baseball Championship on May 22, Leggett moved into a tied for 9th place on the all-time wins list with a 3-2 win over Miami (FL). Earlier in 2014, Leggett also record his 900th win at Clemson with a 5-4 win at Georgia Southern on March 19.
