Goodman commits to Clemson

Clemson landed another outstanding baseball commitment Tuesday night when Zach Goodman gave a verbal to the staff.  The 6-2, 190 pound right handed pitcher from Kennesaw, GA in a 2015 prospect.

“I actually just visited Clemson today,” Goodman told TheClemsonInsider.com.  “I immediately fell in love with the school and the campus.  The baseball facility was amazing.  The school was amazing.  I loved the coaches and the support you get academically”.

Good friend and East Cobb teammate Ryley Gilliam just recently committed to the Tigers.

“We were talking about it the other day.  He was trying to get me to commit and I finally did,” said Goodman.

What are Zach’s thoughts on coach Leggett.

“I can’t wait to get over there and play for him.  I love his personality and how he gets so involved with his players,” said Goodman.

Other schools that Zach considered strongly include Georgia Southern, Georgia Tech and KSU.

The commitment came as a surprise Tuesday.

“I didn’t plan on it but after the visit on the ride home with my mom I just told her I couldn’t see myself going anywhere else,” said Goodman.

“I’m proud to announce that I have officially committed to play baseball at Clemson University!! #GoTigers,” tweeted Goodman.

Zach is part of the powerful East Cobb baseball program and teammates with Clemson commit Ryley Gilliam.  He throws 88-91 with a good breaking ball.
