Defensive news and notes from scrimmage

Here are some of the news and notes that we gathered after Clemson’s two-hour scrimmage in Death Valley.

*The Clemson defense got off to a slow start as it gave up a 15-play scoring drive to start the scrimmage. Venables, however, said he did not view it as a slow start because they made the offense work for it and earn it. He did say they need to do a better job getting off the field though.
