Earlier this summer, junior offensive tackle Austin Myers was informed by Chad Morris that Clemson would be offering.
Myers received the offer after turning in a strong performance at the Dabo Swinney Football Camp.
“It was my first one. It was a lot of relief,” he said during a recent interview with TheClemsonInsider.
A 6-5, 298-pound prospect from Manvel High School, Myers also camped at Louisville and Kentucky this summer. He visited Auburn and Texas.
Myers was joined in Clemson by several of his teammates, including 2016 wide receiver Reggie Hemphill, who was offered by Morris prior to the camp.
“It was a good camp,” Myers said. “The coaches were good. They went over everything well. I learned a lot. It was a good environment to be in.”
Myers got word of the offer from one of his coaches as the crew from Manvel was between Clemson and Auburn.
“I think it’s pretty good,” Myers said of the offer. “I like it a lot. I was talking about it a lot before they offered me.”
With his team off to a 3-0 start this season, Myers hopes to make a couple of campus visits this fall.
“Probably Texas, Clemson and Baylor,” he said.
