Before Saturday, Jordan Griffin had never visited Clemson.
The Jonesboro High School (Georgia) junior defensive back was joined by teammate Zerrick Cooper for Saturday’s blowout win over South Carolina State.
“It was a very good experience. I loved the fanbase. That was a very different experience for me,” Griffin told TheClemsonInsider on Saturday night.
There was plenty that stood out to Griffin, who was offered by Clemson earlier this year.
“We got there a little late, so I couldn’t see everything that I would have liked to have seen,” he said, “But the stadium was fantastic, the facility.
“The fanbase was a major aspect. They support their Clemson team a lot. Coaching staff, I like them a lot. It was real good.”
After the game, Griffin caught up with several Clemson coaches, including Dabo Swinney, Mike Reed and Chad Morris. Athletics director Dan Radakovich also spoke to Griffin.
“The way that they talk to their players after the game, that was very good,” Griffin said. “They have a lot of respect for their players. They work as a team and it’s just one big family.”
Last week, Griffin attended the Ole Miss/Boise State game in the Georgia Dome. He has no plans for the immediate future.
“Me and Zerrick plan on going back (to Clemson),” he said.
