Four-star SG talks Clemson

By Hale McGranahan.

After putting together a strong performance at last month’s Brad Brownell Elite Camp, sophomore combo guard Ty’Shon Alexander picked up an offer from Clemson.

The 6-foot-4, 180-pound sophomore from Northside Christian in Concord, North Carolina is listed by 247 as a four-star shooting guard and ranked as the No. 41 overall prospect in the class of 2017.

Alexander recently spoke to TheClemsonInsider about his most recent visit to Clemson and what it means to have an offer from the Tigers.

“It was fun. I really liked the environment, how many people were there,” he said of the elite camp. “The games and everything, the way my team was. My team was actually pretty good. We were playing like we were actually a regular team. It was fun, fun and competitive.”

Alexander visited Clemson earlier this year for the Duke game.

“The environment, it was packed. It was loud and everything,” he said. “It was fun when they beat them, because everybody just stormed the court. That made it even better, because that was my first time seeing that.

“It was the best. It was pretty fun.”

Brownell and his staff have already made a solid impression.

“The coaches, they’re fun. I really like all the coaches they’ve got,” Alexander said. “The biggest thing about the coaches is they teach the players what to do. They learn, they get the players focused. And the way that they have fun.”

The Clemson staff extended an offer after camp.

“They were telling me about everything,” Alexander said. “They’re going to follow everything that I do. They’re going to be around me a lot. They’re on me. That showed they respect me a lot, too.”

Over the summer, Alexander also went to camps at Virginia Tech and Charlotte. The Hokies and 49ers have also offered.
