Heathwood Hall junior linebacker linebacker Brandon Hill was in Clemson last Saturday for his first trip to Tigertown as a football recruit.
Hill was among the prospects on hand for the win over S.C. State.
“I came last year to check out the campus, to see how it looked, but I never came before for any athletic reason,” he told TheClemsonInsider this week. “That was my first time seeing the stadium, locker rooms and all that stuff.”
The 6-foot-3, 208-pound prospect liked what he saw.
“It was nice. They told me they just renovated everything. It looks good, the weight room, locker room, it looks good,” Hill said.
While in town, he spoke with Brent Venables and Dan Brooks.
“They were just talking about how my season has been going, how I’ve been playing, (asking) how I liked the campus and the stadium,” Hill said.
The Clemson assistants also told him they see him playing linebacker at the next level.
“They said I had the right build, good feet for my size. They just want to see how I play,” Hill said.
Purdue, Duke, Nebraska and Oklahoma are also in touch. Duke will have him on campus this Saturday. Later this month, he’ll head up to Purdue for a visit.
Through three games this season, Hill has 26 tackles, four tackles for loss and an interception. On the offensive side of the ball, he’s rushed 34 times for 225 yards with five touchdowns. Hill also has six catches for 120 yards and a score.
