UNC game guest list

By Hale McGranahan.

Saturday night’s 7 o’clock matchup with UNC is shaping up to be a big-time recruiting event for the Clemson football and basketball staffs.

Headlining the guest list are three official visitors.

With Sickles High School on bye this week, Ray Ray McCloud is one of the top football guests scheduled to make the trek to Clemson this weekend. Upon his arrival to Clemson in January, he’ll work at the 2-position. The five-star (Rivals) athlete could also be an impact running back or cornerback at the college level, but the Tiger coaches think he’ll fit best at wide receiver.

The hoops staff will have its first two official visitors of the year in this weekend when Ty Hudson and Luke Maye get to town, both of whom are prority targets on the Tigers’ 2015 recruiting board.

Maye, who’s spent the last month or so going back and forth between Clemson and childhood favorite North Carolina, will be back on the Clemson campus for the first time since his late summer one-day visit. The Hough High School (Cornelius, North Carolina) power forward is expected to be in Chapel Hill next week for Late Night with Roy.

Clemson’s newest assistant, Richie Riley, has a lengthy relationship with Hudson, a four-star point guard (ESPN) from Pebblebrook High School in Sandy Springs, Georgia. Hudson is scheduled to visit Ole Miss next weekend.

Perhaps the top football guest from the 2016 class is Spartanburg running back Tavien Feaster. This will be Feaster’s first trip to Clemson since his appearance at the Dabo Swinney Football Camp. The Tigers remain in strong contention for the four-star prospect, who has offers from most of the top programs in the country.

The football coaches will also host 2016 four-star defensive tackle Nyles Pinckney, one of the first defensive prospects from that class to pick up a Clemson offer.

There are plenty of other 2016 prospects with a Clemson offer set visit, including the Tigers’ lone commitment for the haul, Argyle (Texas) tight end J.C. Chalk, who pulled the trigger while visiting over the summer for camp.

Offensive linemen Sean Pollard of Pinecrest High School (Southern Pines, N.C.) and Parker Bourdreaux of Moore Catholic (Orlando, Fla.) will be in town. Pollard visited a couple of weeks ago with his father and grandmother. Bourdreaux will arrive for his first visit to Clemson on Friday.

Divine Deablo, a four-star wide receiver from Mount Tabor High School in Winston-Salem, N.C., will return for the first time since his three-day camp stop. So far this season, Deablo has visited UNC and been to two South Carolina games.

Clemson will also have two other 2014 campers: Buford High School (Georgia) 2016 athlete Xavier Gantt and Statesville High School (North Carolina) 2016 quarterback Travis Ramseur.

Landon Dickerson, a 2016 offensive lineman from Hickory, North Carolina, has offers from N.C. State and Virginia Tech. He’ll be in Clemson on Saturday night.

Several 2015 commitments will return for unofficial visits: Austin Bryant, Noah Green, Kelly Bryant, Gage Cervenka, Tanner Muse, Van Smith and Zach Giella.
