Landon Dickerson visited Clemson over the summer for the Dabo Swinney Football Camp.
The 6-4, 290-pound offensive lineman from Hickory, North Carolina returned to Tigertown last month for the UNC game.
“It was a good trip. It was a late night for all of us, but it was a pretty good trip,” he told TheClemsonInsider.
Dickerson enjoyed the experience, his first in Death Valley.
“I mean, it was a great game,” he said. “Obviously, they won, which is always good. It’s a pretty large crowd down there, which is nice to be around. It’s pretty loud and I kind of like it.”
Offensive line coach Robbie Caldwell spoke with Dickerson before the game.
“I caught him on the way out to the field and talked to him for about a minute or so,” Dickerson said. “He was glad I was there. I think coach (Dan) Brooks, he’s my recruiter, came by my school (last month), but we didn’t have school.”
Said Dickerson about Caldwell: “I think he’s a really good coach. He’s about the fine details of things, which is always good, even on the biggest scale. He critiqued some of my things and I think he’s a pretty good coach.”
Along with the trip to Clemson, Dickerson visited Virginia Tech for the Georgia Tech game. He’ll visit Tennessee this weekend.
Tennessee, Virginia Tech, N.C. State and Wake Forest have offered. Clemson continues to evaluate him.
“They have talked about it. Coach Brooks said something about it over the summer…he said they were trying to get the 2015 class taken care of before they get to 2016,” Dickerson said.
