Monday Morning Quarterback

By Will Vandervort.

Clinging to a three-point lead and needing something to extend its lead, Clemson got help from two expected sources in Saturday’s 23-17 victory over Louisville.

In front 20-17 with 6:58 to play in the game, the Tigers took over the football at its own 28-yard line. In its two previous fourth-quarter possessions, Clemson was intercepted and gained only six yards on a three-and-out.

At this point, it was doubtful anyone of the 81,500 that were on hand believed the Tigers were about to embark on a 12-play, 68-yard drive that would take five minutes and 34 seconds off the clock.
