If there is one thing we have learned from the first six games of the season, it’s this – this Clemson team is resilient.
Before the season even started, the Tigers suffered a major blow when running back Zac Brooks was lost for the season with a broken foot. That same week, right tackle Shaq Anthony left the team from an offensive line and position that could not afford to lose anyone at the time considering its lack of depth.
Then during warm ups, prior to the start of the Georgia game, starting tight end Sam Cooper—the position’s best blocker—broke a bone in his foot and missed the first four games of the season. Defensive tackle Corey Crawford, defensive back Garry Peters and left guard David Beasley also sat out the Georgia game due to a suspension for breaking unspecified team rules back in the spring.
Crawford’s, Brooks’, Beasley’s and Cooper’s absences in the Georgia game were noticeable and contributed to the Tigers’ 45-21 loss.
