Less than a week after he was in Clemson for the N.C. State game, 2016 kicker Alex Barbir connected on field goals from 56, 52, 40 and 20 yards.
The South Forsyth (Cumming, Georgia) junior nailed the four in the 33-8 win over Northview, which tied the state record for most made field goals in a single game.
His make from 56 yards also made a little bit of history.
“I set a new personal record, broke the high school record, broke the county record and, I think, it’s the ninth-longest in Georgia state history,” Barbir said.
Just six days earlier, he was in Clemson to see the Tigers’ win over N.C. State.
“I had a really good time. I love it more every time I go up there,” Barbir told TheClemsonInsider, during a recent interview.
He plans to be back for the South Carolina game.
“The facilities are definitely top of the line, some of the best in college football,” Barbir said. “There’s really no stadium like Death Valley.
“The fans, everything about that, I love. The fans, when I went, were crazy. They were always going and being loud, doing different chants. That’s something that I would really want to be around.”
Auburn will have him on campus this weekend. Trips to Mississippi State and Vanderbilt could also be in the works.
Those three schools, along with Clemson, are in the most contact with Barbir.
“I’ve been getting a lot of stuff from Boston College lately. I’ve talked to ‘Bama, so Alabama also,” he said.
On kickoffs, Barbir has hit close to 90 percent into the end zone for touchback. He’s accounted for 45 points this season (30 extra-points).
