From Jayron Kearse to Jeff Gibson and Tanner Muse, over the last few recruiting cycles, Clemson has set its sights on a big, lengthy safety prospect.
Earlier this year, the Tiger coaches identified Isaiah Stallings, a 6-4, 195-pound junior at Terry Sanford High School in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
Clemson was Stallings’ first offer. In the spring, he visited for Junior Day.
“They told me all about (Clemson) when I went to Junior Day…coach (Dan) Brooks, my recruiting coach, he seems like a nice guy. He’s really down to earth,” Stallings he told TheClemsonInsider, during a recent interview.
Clemson made a favorable first impression.
“I liked it a lot. I thought the campus was really nice. That was my first visit to a college at all, really, it just really stood out to me,” Stallings said.
A three-star prospect, according to Rivals, Stallings is listed as the No. 24 safety in the country. UNC, N.C. State and Old Dominion have also offered.
This season, he’s taken a pair of visits to both N.C. State and UNC. Clemson was supposed to have him down for a game a few weeks ago, but the plans were nixed.
“I’m definitely going to have to make it down to Clemson, since I didn’t go to that game,” Stallings said
