Heathwood Hall junior linebacker Brandon Hill visited Clemson earlier this fall for the S.C. State game.

Earlier this month, Clemson defensive coordinator Brent Venables informed the 6-3, 210-pound prospect from Columbia that the Tigers were ready to offer.

“First off, my coach called me up to his office after school and he told me that he talked to coach Venables, who recruits my area…I got in contact with coach Venables and then we talked for a little bit,” Hill said, during a recent interview with TheClemsonInsider.

“He was just saying he liked my film,” Hill said. “He liked the way I played, how I looked. He said I would be a good addition to the Clemson football team.

“I told him that I wanted to play linebacker. He’s one of the best coaches in the country and I could really learn from him.”

The offer is one that Hill was happy to receive.

“It’s great. It’s awesome…it’s really a great opportunity,” he said.

Duke and Wake Forest have also offered.

“I’ve had a bunch of contact with the Vanderbilt and Virginia Tech coaches. I’m kind of opening for some good news from them soon,” Hill said.

Who leads?

“I talked with my dad about it earlier in the season. He just told me to make sure to keep my options open, to see everything at the school and take everything into play,” Hill said. “I’m just trying to wait it out.”

As a junior, Hill had 160 tackles and rushed for 850 yards.
