Monday Morning Quarterback
This time last week there were a lot of unknowns as Clemson got set to play Oklahoma in the Russell Athletic Bowl. But a week after the Tigers’ most dominating performance in a bowl game to date, we can start looking ahead to what the future might bring, especially on offense.
Cole Stoudt was spectacular in his last game as a starting quarterback as he threw for a career-high 319 yards and three touchdowns in earning MVP honors. It’s because of his performance that many wonder just how good will new quarterbacks coach Brandon Streeter be for Deshaun Watson, who is already expected to be a Heisman Trophy Candidate when the 2015 season starts up.
What Streeter did for Stoudt in the little time he had with him was simply amazing. What he can do for Watson—a guy who has all the talent in the world—might make him better than he already is. Speaking of which, it’s amazing to see how far Watson has already come in his recovery from ACL surgery just three weeks ago. If you don’t know, he is already walking around without the help of crutches and his rehabilitation is ahead of schedule.
